RGB letters typically refer to color-changing illuminated letters, using LEDs as the core light source. They achieve full-color display by controlling the mixing of red, green, and blue light. The production process mainly revolves around LED seven-color illuminated letters, suitable for advertising signage, shop signs, and other scenarios.
Preliminary Preparation and Design Confirmation
Communicate with the client to confirm dimensions, font, color effects, installation location, etc.
Materials Selected: Metal (sheet iron, aluminum plate, stainless steel) for the letter shell, acrylic or PC panel, LED light strips or RGB LED modules, dedicated power supply and controller.
Material Processing
Cutting and Engraving: Cut the metal letter shell, edging, and base plate according to the design files (usually in PLT or DXF format) using laser or CNC equipment.
Grooving and Bending: Groove the metal frame to facilitate bending and shaping (especially for precision-crafted letters).
Soldering and Assembly
Drilling and LED Insertion: Drill holes in the letter casing at 10–30mm intervals (5mm or 8mm is common), clean, and insert the LEDs.
Wiring: Connect the LED strings in a “series first, then parallel” configuration, with red to positive and black to negative. If using RGB smart LEDs, a data cable (e.g., DI/DO) is required.
Fixing and Encapsulation: Secure the LEDs with silicone or glass glue to improve water resistance and durability.
Circuit and Control Integration (RGB-specific steps)
Install the RGB controller (e.g., remote control or timer type) to support multiple color switching modes (e.g., gradient, flashing, seven-color cycle).
Connect a dedicated power supply (usually 12V or 24V DC) to ensure power matching.
Testing and Debugging
Aging Test: Run the circuit for 24 hours to check for any issues such as no lighting, flickering, or color deviation.
Uniformity Calibration: Adjust LED density or power output to ensure uniform illumination throughout the lettering.
Surface Treatment and Final Assembly
Metal parts are spray-painted or electroplated (primer + topcoat, or baked dry).
Acrylic panels are pasted on, and the letter casing is secured to the base plate with screws.
Packaging and shipping; professional team will install on-site.
